"It's like talking to a brick wall"

Often times when we call out Garrett's name to get his attention, whether it be to stop him from something he is doing - stop something he is about to do - or just simple tell him to do something, he doesn't listen. Now, I truly don't know if he already has that "male selective hearing", which I have been told there is also "toddler selective hearing" and he may be suffering from that, or if he is so engrossed in what he is doing at the present time that he honestly doesn't hear us. Anyway, it can be very aggravating. This weekend Kevin told Garrett that he was like talking to a brick wall sometimes....and went up to the wall in the living room and called "Garrett!!!!!!!!", well you guessed it.....Garrett thought it was hilarious. So now, randomly (when we tell him to!), Garrett will go up to the wall and call into it "OLAN....MEGAN!!!!" (our dogs names), or occasionally he will call something that sounds like his name, and then sometimes we simply can't understand what he is saying!!! Here is a short bit of him calling into the wall (he doesn't stay and talk for long - hence why the video is so short!).
