We, well I, decided to carve a Mickey Mouse this year. This is Kevin telling me I was dead after this!!

The finished product!! I did most of the carving...which by the way is SO overrated...therefore I think it turned out excellent!!

Garrett doesn't seem to mind all the imperfections, not the mention the half dozen nails needed to hold the pieces I cut by mistake!! :)

Corn Maize/Pumpkin Patch

We took Garrett to a local Corn Maize and Pumpkin Patch on Saturday. The weather here was perfect, and we had a great time!

They had silos filled with corn kernel....most kids were loving every bit of it. Don't let this picture fool you...Garrett hated this part. He sunk down to the bottom with the corn coming up to his waist almost. I hoped in hoping he would warm up, however he was done shortly after this picture was take. Needless to say we are still finding corn kernels places you don't want corn kernels :)

They had a cow train pulled by a tractor. We thought our timid little boy would have nothing to do with this ride...boy were we wrong, he loved it. He's getting so brave :)

Blue Ridge Parkway

Fall Festival

Yes, I realize it's been a LONG time since I've posted any pictures. I am reminded of this constantly :) I won't worry about coming up with any excuses...I'll just go ahead and apologize....I'm sorry. To avoid any further complaints I made sure to take quite a few pictures today while we went to our local fall festival.

Garrett has a great time, as did we. Carleane and Bill also joined us for the occasion! Garrett had a lot of firsts' today....he got his first "real" tattoo....and rode a horse! Yes, our child...the one scared of anything and everything rode a horse today. We were shocked to say the least.

We could not have asked for better weather, it's sunny and in the mid 70's today! Fall is in the air and the leaves are a changin'...my favorite! Kevin and I are headed up to the mountains Monday for our 7th wedding anniversary....crazy it's been 7 years, feels like just yesterday! We can't wait to see all the beautiful fall colors!!
