Our first family vacation to the beach!!

We decided to take a little family vacation, so we went to Wilmington for a weekend getaway. We had such a good time. Garrett HATED the beach. He was scared of the water (who can blame him-that is one big bathtub), and I can't stand sand everywhere-so while he was fine playing in that...I wasn't digging it - and left soon after arriving(yes, I did grow up in Florida...but I have always HATED sand)Poor Kevin- I think he was hoping we would spend all day at the beach, yea, didn't happen!
So we spent some time at the pool (Garrett's first time in a pool) and he loved that... esp. the little boat float we got him! We also took a tour of the USS North Carolina that they have docked in Wilmington b/c it is a retired ship. It was very interesting, and something fun to do. I have yet to post a video but as you can tell in the pictures Garrett is full on walking now!! It's exciting...but sure is keeping us busy!! It definatly is his favorite mode of transportation now. Ah, where has my baby gone!

First pair of WALKING shoes!!

Garrett is not quite walking (getting close though) and his other shoes were getting to small...so we went and bought his first pair of walking shoes today!!! We went to a locally/family owned shoe store that specializes in childrens shoes. Here are a few different shots I took when we got home of the shoes....I totally forgot to take pictures at the store :(

Dance like there's no tomorrow

Garrett has started "dancing" to music now. It is the funniest thing to see him bouncing up and down while were in the car! This is a new toy that his Grandma Kaye got him that is a ride on toy, that also plays music(You can't hear it that well on the video). He cracks us up!! :)

Sand Table

We have been so busy that Garrett hasn't even gotten to play with the sand and water table that we got him for his birthday. Well, after dinner we took him outside to check it out and he loved it! Half of the sand was either on him, or on the ground!!

WE HAVE A TOOTH!!!!

FINALLY!! After months of wondering, and asking the Doctor if we needed to look into getting some baby dentures....we have a tooth!!! :) I noticed it today, and it seems to already have broken the skin (well some anyway, b/c it feels jagged). We are so excited(And boy am I glad I'm not nursing still!!)....but kinda sad...we love his toothless grin :(

4 Wheelin'

Garrett went 4 wheelin' tonight in the backyard. By the time we got the camera he was getting hungry so he had to "chase" Mommy and he got fussy at the end - but he LOVES his 4 wheeler. This was the first time he went in the backyard to ride.....he liked the hills in the yard!!

Garrett's 1st birthday party

Today was Garrett's first birthday party! We had a great day. We had it at a local park...and the sun stayed "hidden" until we were cleaning up, so it wasn't to hot...and we didn't have rain! I don't think we have anything to worry about with Garrett liking sweets...he is a true Jones! He was so tired when it was all done...I think today will be the longest nap in Garrett's history!!!

Birthday present from MiMi and PaPa!! I think he is going to like it....esp. once he figures the "go" button himself. It goes 2mph....doesn't seem fast when you say it...but that thing can go!!!! :) Thanks MiMi and PaPa!

The party may be Saturday...but we partied today!!

Even though the party is Saturday...we couldn't let Garrett's actual birthday pass without some cake. So we got him a cupcake from the same place his cake is going to be from on Saturday....as you can tell....HE LOVED IT!!! Once he got just alittle taste of icing it was ALL over....
