Garrett's FIRST birthday!!!!!

It's hard to believe that our little boy is ONE year old. Time has gone by so fast, yet it's hard for us to remember and imagine life without him. He has brought us so much joy and happiness....much more than we ever imagined. We have had many firsts'....his first bath, first smile, first giggle, first TAR HEEL game!, first food, first crawl, first "cruise", first pull up, first words....all of which are so exciting and precious, yet at the same time bittersweet. Seeing Garrett become his own little person is amazing-it's proof everyday that there is a God!! When we look at Garrett we wonder what the future holds for him. We count ourselves blessed that whatever it may be-we will be there every step of the way!!

Garrett's very own swing!!

Bill built Garrett his very own swing set and brought it over the other day. Because of rain this was the first chance Garrett has gotten to swing in it(with the exception of one time at their house). He loves to swing... so this will get ALOT of use. I think if we had left him in their longer he would have gone to sleep he was so relaxed!! Thanks Bill!!

He loves his new slide

We have a smarty pants on our hands!, he has already figured out how to slide down his slide!! He got so mad tonight when it was time to come in for dinner...he did NOT want to stop sliding...esp. since he figured out how to do it on his own!!

Garrett's new treehouse

Garrett go another birthday present early!! MiMi and PaPa bought him this treehouse. Yesterday we put it together and let him play on it for alittle while...he LOVED it!!! Toward the end he would walk around to the steps as if saying "ok...let's go again!!" "Thanks MiMi and PaPa, I love it!!!!"

I got teased because in the pictures I posted yesterday, there were no pictures of real animals just fake sculptures. So....here are some pictures of the real animals we saw at the zoo. We didn't get any with Garrett and the animals-just never could get good angels to see him and the animals together, maybe next time!! :)

Garrett's first trip to the zoo!!

We had a GREAT time today! We took Garrett to the zoo with Tyler and Whitney. He had so much fun and really enjoyed looking at all the animals. He was such a good boy even through all the heat! Here are some pics (ok, there are alot of pics!!) from today!

I think the seals and sea lions were his favorite. They were really showing off today and he just loved looking at them...

...but he didn't want them to get to close!!

Garrett decided tonight that he was going to pull up!!, and pull all his toys out of his basket. Kevin is hating the mess that he makes....because he doesn't clean up yet!! LOL :)

We have had our camera for almost 2 years and just found today that you can change the color of the picture while you take it. I love black and white and sepia pictures so Garrett had alittle photoshoot today.
